We bred and now co-own a male Ridgeback living in Alabama.He has come to maturity at 4 years old and has become an the object of desire for many champion female Ridgeback owners.We have studded him out 5 times in 4 months to females from all over the country.With the #1 Ridgeback brought down from Pennsylvania staying at the house being impregnated.Many females are pregnant.The owners are fearful,because J-LO (big buttocks) just had 17 pups(one stillborn).They are being fed in groups of 8 due to limited milk supply points. He had one litter a year ago and the (10) pups have matured into very fine dogs.  Lenny-kennel name is 'Lenny the Man on the Side'  |

It's a huge burden for her Daniel.Just 8 leaves Mom skinny and tired at weening time.The owners are with means and have helpers around the clock and vet on site.She is in the best of care.The family that owns her is put up in a house by the sponser of this and a few other dogs.The sponser basically takes care of all the family's housing and life expenses.

At about 3 weeks just 10 pups push mama around like a bulldozer.

Just imagine playtime at 6 weeks. No wonder you live in a little paradise of your own. I mommy have a hard time just with 3. Cant imagine with 16 of them at the same time coming at you wanting to play. Or worse wanting to run, darting off in every possible direction possible  |

"I got 10 pups here.The 16 litter is in Virgina.And 2 more litters in the oven.All sired by Lenny(the Man)in the past few months.And the 2 owners of the litters in the oven are scared to death of mega litters.The mothers are not my dogs.People just coming from all over the US to breed to Lenny.The litter at the house is ours by contract.(ie,i am not a puppy mill). Lenny is our boy we co-own with Alabama family.His pic and one year old litter came up in a Rhody mag and everyone wanted to breed to him all the sudden." This male of ours may fill a lot of homes w/pups-but some males create big litters kk.They better be prepared to have biiiig litters.My litter of 10 is 5 weeks and we are happy to move them to "The Puppy Condo"-outside-TODAY.They are loud,smelly and up at all hours.They can go keep the wildlife awake now LOL. Pulling puppies around in this 'puppie sled' hypnotizes them kk.Start them at 3 weeks and they will climb into it ready for transport.An invention of James' that has been revolutionary   |

Lenny does look like a stud. Those puppy pics are some good ones.
Question. How come some of them have black noses and around their mouth? Male female thing?

That puppy sled is a great idea!!! Those little guys are so cute, I love their wrinkly little faces. Personally, I like the ones with the light noses. And they even have light colored eyes. Will they stay that way, James? Jean

1)Some have 'masks',some don't.It's hereditary-no matter gender
2}We have not had liver noses(see 4 of them?)in 10 years.The last one we had one every level right up to 12 and older veteran dog
She was a cougar that could outrun younger dogs right up to her dying days.When she was 11 she beat 7-9 year olds.again,cougar
3)Sliding those pups in that box paralizes them for good photos.
4)I thought Lenny was gay.He is not.He shows little interest UNTIL 48 hours after ovulation.So when she is egg ready,he ties her in seconds.
We now she is egg ready by taking them to the vet for $$ progesterone test.He knows by smell like Hannibal Lectere or mature buck in rut.Needless to say,we do not pay the vet anymore to test-we let Lenny say when.It took me 3-4 breedings to figure out his prowess.Cause before she was ready he played w/her and acted like ladies were not his forte.These people are coming long distance w/their female and $1800 in hand.They do not like his dullard performance in the begins.I tell em to wait 2 days after vet estimates ovulation.It is amazing.He is bad dude but has candy ass personality LOL

Thanks Jean.Yes,they will keep the face markings but eyes will go from kadaber grey to hopefully dark brown.
The sled absolutely paralyzes them.It is amazing.

Absolutely.He earned my respect.This guy don't mess around Jean.And what you say is actually a problem w/some dogs because some do not rebound quickly.However,he was collected 2 hours after a breeding a while back and they counted and froze 4 more breedings so he is a long way from sterile.He is a real gentle and amiable dog.My girls are way smaller than he but they roll tackle him like an inflatable.Always run my girls behind the ATV and they wrestle for hours out in the field.
People bring their big males we sold them back and think they will get out in the field and bully my girls around.My 65# girl will wait till 105# he is up to full speed and hit him in the shoulder.I have seen them(hims) roll end over end 1 and 1/2 times.The visiting girls seem to know better.You guys are smarter than us,aren't you.
