Hello everyone! I joined this forum about 4 years ago and posted and introduction way back then. Shortly after I joined, life decided it had other plans for me and I became an occasional lurker rather than an active participant. But now I'm ready to jump back into the fold! A quick little something about me:
I was born and raised in Wyoming, and I think it’s the greatest place to live, though circumstances have me looking to relocate to the St. Louis area(anyone in MO?). I come from a long line of rockhounds, which led to me become a geologist. My main area of expertise is in stratigraphy and sedimentology. I also have a passion for vertebrate paleontology and have worked in everything from the Jurassic Morrison Formation to Eocene Willwood Formation excavating and preparing specimen for the local community college.
I’ve been making jewelry for the past few years to satisfy the girly need for pretty sparkly rocks that I don’t often get to express in my day-to-day work life. I inherited my grandfather’s lapidary equipment and supplies along with lots of slabs, rough stone and more Montana agate than I’ve seen outside of Montana, most collected near his childhood home of Sidney. I've been creating cabs for about 8 months now and have been teaching myself metalsmithing. I look forward to interacting here (again) and tapping into the huge pool of knowledge you all have.

Welcome back from a northern (Montana) neighbor. No wonder I'm having trouble finding Montana agate. ; > )
