I used to do something like this for gemstone earrings years ago. I made some gem earrings and pendant for my grandaughter. Then I tried it with big cabs. I just finished these, in fact, one still has marks on it- oops. (The backs look identical to the front.) One bail is manufactured, one I made. All sterling. Mariposite from Susan and Moss agate or flame agate from Roy-

I'm seeing smithing written all over the next phase of Tela! You're like one step away from a bezel here! Great job on these!!!! Cathy

Thanks Cathy, I tried soldering silver and I'm afraid that I don't have much of an aptitude for it. I am influenced by it, though.

I really like this technique. As others have said, it is just a simple, but clean presentation.

Thank you everyone Barclay- I've been at this a long time. It's true that you need practice, practice, practice. I honestly don't know how many wraps I have done. Too many to count. Kurt, it's a wrap. I'm afraid I haven't mastered groove wrapping. I can't even cut a groove correctly, apparently.
