Found this guy hanging out outside the garage yesterday. Known as the Palo Verde Beetle it's one of the largest beetles in North America. I used the latin name in the title just to impress Shotgunner   Cute huh? |

Cool, I love beetles! That one is very similar to the Prionis beetles ( tile horned beetles) we get on our oak trees......Mel

So that's what those are! I remember a poor lost one of those crawling through the door of a restaurant where I was having lunch a few years ago – seriously huge.

Appropriately impressed.
I only know a few crickets & flies and only one beetle.
Awesome Brian! Wish I could culture those. The gusanos would be great lizard food!

Brian, is the beetle living off a palo verde in your yard? Or has it adapted to another species?
