Was given to me for helping out a good friend. He found a huge boulder with his metal detector and needed help to dig it out. I call it a boulder because after a few hours of digging we had to give up. We never found the bottom of it and the water in the hole was too high to continue so we will have to wait for the water level to go down this summer. I think we may need an excavator to get this thing out.. The rock is made up of what appears to be Cobaltite, Nickeline, and Native Silver. I have been at it all day slabbing up my own rocks. I did some Cobaltite earlier which turned out very well and looks like it will polish up very nicely. Now I'm slabbing away some high grade silver. Loving it! I can post some pictures tomorrow.
Has anyone ever had much experience with Cobaltite, Nickeline or Native Silver?

I burned up a blade and melted the plastic blade washer trying to trim down pieces of the Cobalt silver ore (sometimes marketed as "flower silver") on my MK145 tile saw.. Typical of all high metallic content rock it is really hard on lapidary blades. A CBN blade would likely work better if you are cutting a lot and can find a decent one.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I took a bunch of pictures today but they did not turn out the best so I will try again tomorrow. I did change my avatar to one of the pieces. I cut around 60 slabs so far of high grade silver and cobalt and I did have one small problem with the blade leaving saw marks on the slabs. It made no difference when i would use more or less pressure because the saw marks remained. When I would cut a different type of rock the saw marks were very minimal so I assume it is the material I am cutting.. It is very soft.

Thanks for the pics Sheldon, looks like you will be turning out some pretty special cabs, a lot of metal in them
