I bought a old Lortone 4# rotary tumbler from ebag. It came with two grit pack kits. They do not have grit size on them other than course, fine, prepolish, polish. They r in metal cans that u open with a can opener and are stacked up in a carboard folder from the factory. The course and fine gray and I guess are 60/90 and 120/220. The prepolish is white powder and so is the polish. Wonder what these are, I have aquired a used loto vibe and I want to try it out if possible without buying a bunch of grit in case the motor is not good, they r very expensive. I looked up the modern kits and some larger kits have 500 unspecified grit for prepolish and some have 1000 unspecified. I figure some of yall have used these in the past. Is 500 or 600 sc grey? It looks sorta brown in the pics on ebay. Thanks, Bill

I would guess 60/90 SiC, 120/220 SiC, 500 AlO, and AlO polish.

Lortone uses titanium dioxide as their tumble polish. A good (like .3 micron) aluminum oxide would be the best for a vibe tumbler. Usually the Lortone (and other manufacturer's kits) are about a single load supply for a rotary tumbler. You would not use the 60/90 in a vibe either so unless really low cost not much of a deal.

Hey John thanks, can I use the polish I got from u for cabbing? Its .3 micron isnt it? Also do you know what the Lortone prepolish is? Can I use it in the Loto? So would 120-220 then the prepolish then the .3 micron stuff I got from you get the job done ? Thznks, Bill
