I saw those variscite cabs back in 'slabs and saws' back in July.
Those slabs are beautiful as are those cabs.

I saw those variscite cabs back in 'slabs and saws' back in July. Those slabs are beautiful as are those cabs. Thanks. The variscite is my favorite in part because I love the color green. The material is really nice to work with as well. It took some getting use to at first since I started practicing on the Tiffany, which was must softer. Once I got use to the harder stone though I really liked working with it. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to get in any cabbing recently. I have some projects I want to start though with making some intarsia sculptures as soon as I can find some more stone. If anyone has any medium to dark green stone, large chunks of clear selenite (Utah glass) or large solid chunk of honey calcite or something similar they want to trade let me know. Would also be interested in a piece of fire agate abut the size of half dollar to silver dollar.

Those do look sweet, nice work. Te best way to find scratches and flaws in cabs is to take pictures then post them . Hey it's true! LOL
