I kicked out some new pieces. Getting the hang of it. Tiffany stone Variscite Variscite. I have to touch this one up. I see some scratches and noticed that that I need to even out the bevel in two spots. A conglomerate from the chrysocolla-turquoise mine

Wow, you captured "father death" in your Tiffany. The color of the Variscite is a bit of a surprise. Have never seen that color before. Nice work overall.

Don't know what you mean about your "father death" comment. You must be seeing something I don't. I took some pieces of the variscite to the gem club and had it checked out by several people. They came back with the stone is "low grade variscite". I don't care if it is low grade or not, I actually like the darker color compared to the lighter green variscite I have seen.

Thanks, I would like to practice more often but the shop is down to only being open 3 days a week and I can generally only get there on one of those days. I may just try to get my own cabbing machine so I can get more done. It has been fun so far and a nice distraction from working on the computer all the time.

Can't wait to see what yo post next! I have a very unique piece I am working on. Did a prototype on a piece the other day and everyone that has seen it loved it even though I was not completely finished. But I slabbed some more of the stone tonight on my tile saw and hopefully will get down there the middle of the week to do a slightly larger piece. If I can get it done Wednesday I will try to get it posted by the end of the week.

There he is in his hood with the scull and some rather long arm bones across the front. I kind of see it. But looking at the closeup I mainly see what looks like a black lab resting his head.
