Nice pieces, Geoff! The amethyst came out beautifully.

Nice batch, and nice setup!
That texas rock/flint is a LOT like the stuff I find up near Marshall, Wyoming (they could be the same stuff based on how it looks)
Great shine on this batch, like the quartz a lot - did you collect that cacoxenite stuff?

I'd say you have it fixed, based on those results!

Be careful with the particle board- as it absorbs moisture from its surroundings, it has a tendency to crumble and break apart. I think I would have gone with marine plywood. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

At the least I would apply a few heavy coats of Polyurethane to the particle board to help seal out any moisture

Beautiful shine! I'm not sure why more people don't do flint either.

Hello there I dont know anything about Lot-os but I have a lifetime of hillbilly engineerin behind me and I dont think you can mount two lot-os to one board and concrete pillar..... I think tge vibrations you need will be messed up. One loto will resonate against the othrr and either increase or decrease or even cause the vibration to spike and fall. Gut feeling backed by what I have seen when a donkey dick concrete vibrator gets too close to another donkey dick vibrator when vibration concrete forms to get rid of potential honeycomb. The two will cause the concrete to swirl, ripple and sometimes not cause the air bubbles to float to the top. Just thinkin.....

Thanks Don! Orrum, I hadn't needed to run both yet so I loaded three barrels and gave it a shot. They seem to run alright but the sound is not very nice. Looks like I have a project when I get home in two weeks.
