We actually got some rain (what's that?) in San Diego area from about 6 to 6:30 this morning. I love it! Hope you find some neat stuff, James! Jean

Here are some photos of one of the pieces of yellow turquoise I found. The second photo shows a partially polished face. Another piece from a different area with some interesting surface colors.

You should be happy to know that I lightened the load on California enough now that it should no longer be in danger of slipping off in to the ocean. I have some other stuff, but still have to pull it out of the truck for cleaning.

I will be going back at some point, but don't have a set date yet. There are some other places I also want to check including several areas here in Southern Nevada where I know there are beryls. So I am not sure yet where I plan to go next.

Any chance you know the "outside the park" locality for the indian paint stone historically from death valley?

Some people at the gem club may know though. Sound like you are closer to the mines than I am and I am doing day trips. Long ones though. My last one was 19 hours, but worth it.

I still have to get some stuff cut. I have not had much time to slab stuff other than some pieces I cut up with my crappy tile saw for cabbing. I would not even dare try cutting this stuff with that saw. If you can find someone to cut the stuff for you I can put together a box faster. It will also save me the cost of getting it cut since I have to pay for the saw time down at the club.
