After Geoff's baby thread, this is weak sauce. Please, I have no delusions of grandeur. I am simply following thru with a promise I made. Here is images of today's plum harvest. I like this tree as the plums ripen over time and not "all at once". Seems ugly The flesh is short fibers and very jam-like. Sweet as all get out and juicy like bottled fruit juice. A bite gains one an explosion of pluminess, a mouthful of sweet nectar and the chew of a delicious custard. The skin does not bely the delectable contents

Oh yeah!Aound our area,we always planted a Santa Rosa and a Methely,to better pollinate the Santa Rosa. The bad part was the trees never lived long in our area, and late frosts would get some of the crop. I can still see my little kids grazing off the plums.Havent grown any in years.Cant beat the taste

snuffy, this is "improved santa rosa". No pollinators. I have 40 fruits this season. Next season my bring on diabetes! jamesp - yes, they stain clothing. The fruits are NOT kid friendly. Only for later teens and adults. lol They are indeed the very definition of delicious. Plus the mouth experience is splendid. No fibers/strings in the teeth. Just sweet, custardy, juicy, plum-my happiness! It is the truth when I say I have never-ever had a better plum. Those pictures are properly exposed as evidenced by the wihite plate with printed patterns. The red/plum color may be a little hot. They ARE deep red.

That made me smile... 4 in the fridge:). I have a fig bush in the backyard... and I do the same thing, only pick when they are fully ripe. They don't make it to my fridge tho...
