Orrum, I've only had mine since 3-18, It has done 11 or so nice loads of rock, and I have learned alot about it. It is GREAT. What I have done since the start is Rough Grind 60-90 in My rotary's either the Lortone 33b or the Lortone QT66, then finish in the loto. I usually do about 2 weeks or so in rough, then I can finish in 1 week in the Loto, using 120/220 then 500, then maybe 1000 or A O polish, In my Climate here on the Texas Gulf Coast, the Vib's MUST be monitored often, In this summer heat, I almost cant make it 12 hours before the rocks gum up with slurry and dry out. Every 6 -8 hours is normal for me, I start out with a full drum, usually some ceramic pellets as well, FIll it with water, drain it all out, and add back about 1/4 Red Cap full , then start it tumbling and Slowly add 1 or 2 Tbsp of the 120-220 Just takes a little practice to get it going right, Much more water than this and it will SLow the action down considerably. In 12 hours it will be tumbling very slow, and getting dry, I usally rinse and repeat for 48 hours, then go to 1 tsp 500 for 24 hours, then the same in 1000 grit, or Straight to polish. The fan weights just need to be on the same axis with each other.
I have really enjoyed mine, just hate that I'm having trouble getting it started again after changing broken springs. Hopefully the experts here will steer me right,
Hope this all helps Dave

Mine's been running for over a year with no problems, so I can't help you with the adjustment issue. I thought I'd comment that I use less water than you do. I fill mine with rocks and water to the top, then drain off the water. I don't add any more water unless it's necessary. The only time I have a problem with the rocks drying out is in the 220 stage. I might add water within the first hour, then a couple times a day after that while it's in 220. The water I add is just a few squirts from a squirt bottle. In all the other stages I very rarely have to add water, and I run them for 2-3 days per stage.
The climate might make a difference. My tumbler is in the basement which is always cool and somewhat humid. However, with the lid on, I don't know how the moisture would escape very fast.

I spoke to the mfg today, nice lady, Not really much help, SHe said just check the fan weights, check for broken spot welds, springs, etc, We talked about the tuning bar (wooden dowel) she said just remove the glue and move it around.
I cut & cleaned off the glue, and commenced playing with the tuning, movement of the dowel is in micro movements, very very small movements and it tumbles just fine, Drilled a small hole in each end of the dowel and dropped a brad nail in it, problem solved. This is a great tumbler, probably alot of Hi tech engineering went into the design, But in the end it is low tech components
