BTW I'm not saying I think they should be bailed out and the avg citizen shouldn't be getting raped with taxes to pay for it. BK is a good thing imo. Certainly beats the likes of Greece etc who aren't allowed to default but instead dragged into hell and totally destroyed just to make some elite jackasses happy.

You've got one now Obama. Get your rich Hollyweed friends to bail them out, and leave the hard working tax payers alone this time. (We all know that ain't gonna happen).

Now it's Obama's fault that Detroit lost 1/2 its population and had no work til Obama helped save the only industry they had left. Unfortunately, the car industry cannot employ every person who lived in Detroit.
What did you think was going to happen?

I think you meant why doesn't Bush move there when he gave tax breaks to corporations for moving overseas. Tax breaks Corporations are still enjoying today... for moving overseas, while leeching money out of our economy every day. Naturally, the Republicans in Congress won't change it back. They count on people to complain that Obama did it, nevermind your OWN QUOTE about 2000-2010, most of when Obama was not the President, and was actually still in college when Bush did it.

Btw... bankruptcy usually signifies hitting the very bottom. It's when all credit and help is exhausted, and there is no lower to fall. Detroit had no hope, so they were still falling.
With bankruptcy = restructuring. There's only 1 direction to go from there. Up.
Where's your thanks to Obama for giving them turnaround/restructuring hope?

Did not see the challenges to the bankruptcy. So Detroit isn't at the bottom yet.

Maybe it's time to move to Somalia, a flawless libertarian system, where it has nearly the identical government as the USA, but little to no taxation and no IRS so poor collection of taxes? I'm fine right here, so maybe you can send me postcards of your better life.
Why try to make the US like Somalia when the system you want is in place already? If you don't like Somalia, Ethiopia also has the identical libertarian government system, so you have another option.
Our system isn't perfect. There are flaws, but any economy goes up and down. We are struggling out of a down cycle, and the pain isn't over. What did anyone expect? After the MESS everyone experienced across the board in the mid 2000's, that it would take a while to fix? Is it ever easier to rebuild something than to damage it? Ever?
Yet there are signs of improvement in every single area. Why is it that the more things improve, the more complaining is done? No one claims the economy is fine, only better.
For the first time since before the election, Moody has raised our credit rating from "Negative" to "Stable". Since credit agencies look at a LOT of different factors, just like your personal credit rating, that's a big deal, and has absolutely nothing to do with the US gov't.
Even the Fed has not stopped the tapering (this is a direct acknowledgement that we are not out of the woods). Did you expect a Genie to show up, blink and fix a decade of bad policies and deficit in a year? And if one doesn't, it's doom and gloom? WHEN do you feel hope? WHEN?

haha... there she goes again. Reductio ad absurdum!Detroit and Somalia are in the same shape. Seems to me that it's most likely Somalia has Detroit's government system - completely overrun by corruption. Bankrupt financially, morally, ethically and every other way possible. The epitome of liberal Democrat run cities nationwide!
