I'm just curious to know if anyone else has had the same problem that I've had. In the 16 years, (17 in a few days), that I've lived in South Dakota, I've gone thru 4 less expensive lawn tractors, and am now using an expensive John Deere. I also have 2 utility trailers. Now the problem. In every single one of the lawn tractors straight from buying them new, the left front tire would not hold air for more than a day or two. Same with both trailers. The left tire won't hold air. Has anyone else experienced this, or do I have some sort of left tire curse placed upon me by the left tire Gods ?

The same tire on all 5 tractors?
When mowing do you make all right turns?
Maybe the left side of the driveway has puncture weed and the right side does not??

Same tire on all 5. And no puncture weeds this far north. I have over 4 acres of lawn to mow. Around trees and shrubs, so left and right turns are about equal. And all 5 tractors and both trailers had the problem straight from the dealer.

Had a co-worker who kept having a rear right tire on his tractor go flat. Each time it did he would work on it and work on it and never found a puncture. His son finally told him after years he had left home what was happening. Each time he would not let his son do something or what the son wanted, the son would let the air out of the tire. The co-worker says he wanted to choke his son, but later they just laughed about it. My co-worker says it nearly drove him crazy cause nothing was never wrong. He says that he never even thought his son would do anything like that ! !

LOL, no kids here. I know it isn't my wife. She barely knows the difference between a tire and a gas cap. And my dog pees on the tires, but I doubt he knows how to let the air out of them.

Try your routine going the back way and see if it gets a different tire. If so, I would suspect something in the ground getting it.
If the tire goes flat while sitting in the garage without being driven for a few days, then something in your garage is getting it.
OR maybe there is something in the left front hubcap/fender area puncturing or scrapping it. A piece in the fender/hubcap areas could be bent and so harm the tire.
OR it is the tire curse! Good luck.

On brand new lawn tractors ? It's happened on every single lawn tractor and trailer I've owned, and always within a day of buying them. One lawn tractor even had a flat left front within the 7 mile trip on a trailer from the dealer to home. One would suspect that possibly a tire wasn't properly seated on the rim when assembled. I make it a habit to over inflate new tires by about 10 PSI, to make sure they're seated, then bleed back to the recommended PSI. And why only the left front on tractors and left side on trailers ?
Hmmm, think maybe if I say 10 Hail Mary's and eat a jar of jalapenos, it will appease the left tire Gods ?

maybe you need to mow the lawn in reverse from now on. try swapping the front tires left to right and see if things change.

Buy a 55 gallon barrel of Green Slime and fill em up. Believe me John, I'm tempted. But with over 4 acres to mow, I'm afraid the additional unsprung weight would beat me half to death. My lawn used to be pasture land, and is far from being the smooth manicured lawn like in the city.

Are you turning a lot in one direction? Try turning the opposite direction for a while (ie, if you start mowing on the left of your yard, try mowing starting on the right side of the yard).
We used to have tons of problems with riding mowers when we had our acreage too. Every one of them was in the shop more time then they spent mowing.
