If an unmanned drone hits the ground around here, I don't know a thing about it. Who, me?
I wonder if they've taken into consideration the law suits that will inevitably follow the first time one of those spy planes (Lets call them what they are), collides with a commercial or private plane ? Or if one malfunctions and strikes a house, killing inhabitants. Of course they haven't. Why should they worry ? we, the tax payers will pay the resulting law suits.

They could track a mouse running across a field via orbiting satellites 30 years ago.
Why would they need drones for surveillance? How paranoid.

Real Time tracking (if it ain't real time, it ain't tracking) Mouse of any Genus considered a mouse by any mammalian biologist. Date proof prior to 07/20/1983 Until then? Bullshit.

Do some homework and you will quickly learn, they do not ACTUALLY expect to hunt drones. Don, it's a tongue in cheek ploy to bring tourists to the little town. Shotgun at 1000feet? Puleeze!

Back when I was in school, one of my Professors for a Covert actions class was a recent Assistant of the CIA, and we were given material to study that 'proved' the US ability to do it. Quite gob-smacking at the time.
You're not need to know, so not only do I have nothing to show you, there's nothing to tell you either. But they absolutely could BEFORE 1983.

Who said anything about hunting with a shotgun ? I've got an ex Russian sniper rifle.
Had an olive drab fed chopper circling around here a while back. (One of my neighbors has been busted twice for growing and selling. They wanted to know what was in his back yard with the 8' high solid fence around it). Haven't spotted a drone yet. Don't think most of the people in S.D. would put up with it. Might get expensive replacing all of those shot down drones.

If US drones get shot down, they absolutely replace them.
Must be fun bragging about destroying taxpayer property that taxpayers must replace. Reminds me of a Popeye episode where Popeye wanted to get rid of an annoying fly in his house, so he shot his house to pieces. Great idea.
I've never seen a drone flying around. You sure that town wasn't talking about flying saucers? Not saying they don't fly training missions, but they don't do it around here.

No Scott, what I said is true. But there's nothing to argue about, since there's nothing you're going to get shown:).

People ain't happy about this drone thing. How would you like it if you were skinny dipping in your back yard pool, and the feds had a drone flying over taking pics of you? Don't say it won't happen, cause it has and will.

Don't say it won't happen, cause it has and will. If a helicopter flys by, same thing happens. Years ago, that actually happened to us... we were in Virginia at a waterfall at Little Falls (just outside of DC)... uh... skinny dipping. And this helicopter not only flew by, they flew REALLY LOW and started taking pix. We could see them doing it, so with a telephoto lens they could see us even better. Bastards. Even when they do that, you can't shoot the helicopter down, so what's the difference?

Jackass.
The difference between drones & helicopters is the people. Drones have no people. How could you miss that?
I can go into the physics of why it's not possible to track mice from orbit, but you will claim you are smarter and whatever other bullshit you do. You win.
But nobody but you reading this will believe it! haha lol...............
Victory!

Want to see ironic? We're one of the first areas in the USA to get drones for direct surveillance. Makes sense, since drones are built here. I still haven't seen them: www.businessinsider.com/orlando-octatron-skyseeer-florida-surveillance-drones-2013-1Our local law enforcement have apparently been BEGGING for drones, and the above is National News. Big deal. You guys worry about the strangest things. You growing contraband on your land, or rob your neighbors to worry about them? Or do you think drones want nekkid pix of old people swimming? Comon.

It's all about the loss of another of our freedoms Helen. It's about the Government overstepping its grounds. If we let them get away with spying on us in our own yards, Where's it gonna stop ? Which of our freedoms will they take away next ?
Of course if we all dropped our drawers and mooned the drone when it flew over.

Which of our freedoms will they take away next ? Of course if we all dropped our drawers and mooned the drone when it flew over. Don, they could ALWAYS spy. Nothing has changed at all there. We haven't lost a darn thing, they can't take pix of you in your house (well, except through remote activated web cams- don't put a webcam on your PC EVER if you worry about that sort of thing, they CAN be activated without your knowledge or consent). The flip side of paranoia is that when criminals commit crimes, that surveillance means they get caught FAST. 20 years ago, maybe we would never have caught the Boston bombers. Due to cameras, we got them almost immediately. Is that bad? What about TSA? They've practically strip searched the elderly and children, and have been complained about since Bush put them in. But is that a price worth paying to prevent your plane from being hijacked? There's a downside to every upside... but the vice versa is true too.
