I do alot of rockhounding in one area, within a couple square miles of a bridge going across the Willamette River, here in Oregon. It has an island underneath it and its a rare occasion to get to it! The water levels are usually high all year around. But the waters have dropped so much this summer around here, that I finally seen a window of opportunity and took it to my advantage... I had to cross a small area of water about thigh high, but I made it!!!! Walked the island for a couple hours, found some petwood and agates..Seen deer on it too, plus geese and ducks. A very enjoyable day! Found some huge agates, one the size of a bowling ball, others about the size of a small cantelope and softballs, plus a few pocket size agates... My pack and rockbag got mighty heavy, but it was a "Thumbs up" day.......... ;D This was the best find of the day......A huge agate with a crystal cavity running through the center of the rock, looks promising to say the least! Sorry for the pic,I couldn't get the right angle for a good shot..... This agate is a bit smaller than a cantelope..

Nice finds Mike. Sadly, the way my hips are, walkn round on rocks don't work too good. Later Clyde
