Hello All, This is my first post (I hope I'm doing it correctly). At 46, I've recently come back to rock tumbling thanks to my dear sister, Debbie, who died after a long struggle against breast cancer in November of last year. When i would visit Debbie, we would hike on different trails outside of Tucson, AZ-both of us picking up rocks and admiring them. She remembered my tumbler as a youth and bought me one as a holiday gift! I've got 3 tumblers now-just got a nice 15lb that I've got the first load tumbling in. My question for this post is this: can anyone tell me of places in Dallas to get rough tumbling media and supplies? I order online and, when visiting Debbie's family in Tucson, go to a great place Dah Rock Shop, but have not been able to find somewhere near my home of Dallas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hope everyone is well.

James, welcome to RTH.There aren't many rockshops in Texas. In the Dallas area the only one I've been to is Natures Gallery in Carrollton.Nice place, rough and supplies.Havent been to The Rock Barrell in Dallas.Just about the only choices in the area I believe.Good luck.
Online,The Rock Shed is a favorite supplier, and you can get rough from members on here, check the Buy,swap, and sell section. snuffy

Snuffy, Thanks for the info. I'll check both of these places out. I love The Rock Shed. I order from there all the time, and just got my new tumbler from there. I've started ordering larger stones as I got a larger tumbler. Got some large pieces of India Tea Agate and Red & Green Jasper. I found another site with blue lace agate, etc. I'm excited to try them all out to see how they come out. I'll be honest-I love polished stones, but I like them to have some "character" left in them when they are done. The perfectly polished, perfectly smooth tumbled stones are beautiful, and I do get that quality often, but I like large naturally contoured finished rocks. I hope you don't mind a personal question-you're not a gas hauler are you? I work for a gas hauling company in Addison and one of our local drivers goes by "Snuffy". Thanks again for the info and take care!
