tntmom Krystee's perfectly matched little cabs really amaze me and inspire me. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was with how these agatized coral trillions came out. I haven't yet put the back groove in, but you can see they are pretty dang close. Thank you Krystee for being such an inspiration! I'm still working on the matching pendant cab. And... here's a few recent cabs. They were polished with 50k. Picture isn't so great- kitchen table under halogen. rhodo, fossil coral, puddingstone- which my husband calls fruitcake, rhodo, Brazilian tree fern fossil- doesn't polish well, Hell's canyon, flame agate. The center has an amethystine which I have been working on a little at a time for months. The shape is roughly what the rough was. The colors are incredible and don't show well in the picture. Thanks for looking!

wow! okay, just when I barely start to get almost, slightly, possibly a little comfortable shaping stones. "MATCHED"? Seriously! argghhhh!
Those are all nice! I like the shape on the bottom one. I am going to try that one I think..

great set. The Hell's canyon and Brazilian tree fern fossil are both new to me but I really like those.

Thanks Drummond Island Rocks I love the hell's canyon petrified wood. This is the first one that I've cabbed. I had some trouble with it, but it worked out ok. There were some unexpected softer spots.

Nice group - I like your work! Re: Hell's Canyon wood, be careful of the growth lines. I used a little too much pressure when grinding my first cab of that material and it separated along one of them. It's a little "tender," as one of my lapidary mentors used to say.

Nicely done, RJ, looks like you win the Krystee Challenge! Like the others too, but they are small for my old eyes, lol. Make 'em bigger next time T

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping to get some more earring cabs done now that I know I can do it.
