The last 4 weeks have been hell on me. Nothing has gone right, can't get answers to questions, it's too hot, lawnmower gave up the ghost, broke my truck door handle, computer room AC up and died, broke a septic tank line, and had to replace the fridge.
I am so frustrated right now I could just scream. I NEED A ROCKHUNTING TRIP !!!!!!

It's been at 100 everyday here. If I am lucky and get outside real early I can last a whole hour before I start to overheat.
Another thing..please...all members...be carefull. Overheating and/or heatstroke can slip up on you before you know it. Keep an eye on each other and yourselves too. keep lots of water on hand. So far this year, I have been within minutes of having to go the emergency room.
OVERHEATING AND HEAT STROKE CAN KILL !!! Let's all be safe this summer.

Thanks guys.... I have plenty of rocks to work with. What I need is to get away from here for a few days.
I live close to College Station, TX.
I am working on planning a trip to AZ to spend a few days with Jamie but that will have to wait until late fall or early winter. I also want to make a trip up north to Montana (before it snows) and possibly one to California in Jan/Feb next year.
Jamie said she has found some beautiful stuff and has been working on getting it out. I thought I would go out and help her BUT the work site is 250 underground, in a tight entry/exit shaft. I don't do underground stuff....plus I just don't like the idea of having only one way in and out.
So in the meantime, I have plenty to keep my busy here at the house. Now if the temp would only drop about 30 degrees.....

I live in Georgetown, but the only thing around here is fossils and flint. The only hounding I do in the summer is on eBay! However, if Mel or Snuffy ever invited me to go hunting with them (they live in places where there actually IS good stuff)...

Snuffy...yeah man..I am about 4 miles from the lake. Lots of pet wood around here.
Sheltie..I was talking to a rancher who live close to Ft. Hood and he told me he found some geodes in a creek on his ranch. Unfortuntly I was not able to get his name or where his ranch was located. I figured some day I would drive up the Ft. Hood area and possibly check out the creeks in that location and maybe even get some of the ranchers to allow me to check out their property.
Maybe we can work up a trip in that area this Nov/Dec time frame.

Tom,
Just let me know when you want to try. I can't imagine anything decent at Ft. Hood, but I guess you don't know unless you try.
