Well I broke down and gave this a try. I have to thank Randy for his tutorial. I used that to form some of this. I felt pretty comfortable till I got to the bail then it went south a little but as a first attempt I was not expecting much. our local hobby shop started carrying half round and square so I did not have to order anything online. thanks for looking and i'll take all the free advice I can get Chuck

That's great. Too good to be a first attempt. Nice stones too.

I can't see where anything is wrong with that at all. Looks perfect to me. You need to dust your velvet neck thingy though. When did you get a velvet neck thingy?

Nice first shot at it! I finished my first try last night and will post a picture shortly. Yours came out MUCH nicer than my own. Cannot wait to see how you progress!!

Rob - I left the fuzzies on the new neck stand to draw peoples attention away from the flaws on my wire wrapping. looks like it worked too Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I was happy with it I just got a little panicked when it came time to figure out the bail and my pliers left some marks so next time I'll try taping the tips of the pliers. Maybe I'll try to get some more wire so I can go with randy's suggestion of doing one wrap every day for at least a week and see how that goes. Chuck

Very nice! Welcome to the wrapping world! I think this is really great for a first effort-- or second, or third... I'm really glad you decided to give it a try. I really appreciate that your cut ends are turned in so nicely at the top. It's all the little things that count.

I finally got some internet access (been out of touch for a while now) and saw this. Great job on the wrap. It doesn't look like a first for sure. As for tool marks, they happen but with practice they happen less often. You could try tumbling the piece to get them out but I don't know how so you'd have to ask others on here about that, I just have heard it works.
