Hi all, Found this in a parking lot in my home town of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. I think it may be Unakite, can someone confirm or deny:) Cabs not bad as well. Thanks, Tom

[devil's advocate]
that has a serpentine quality to me.

Can you scratch it with a knife? If not, then I am voting for unakite. I like the setting. Is it self made?

I think it looks like unakite. It's very nice, whatever it is. Here's a piece of unakite I found in Lake Superior:

It is quite nice indeed.
The reason I asked about serpentine is the green looks fibrous and stringy. Especially in the white areas.
A simple scratch will tell. If it scratches, then I am looking for a lapidary grade of serpentized marble.

It can't be scratched with a knife and yes the setting is self made, thanks

Thanks Shotgunner,
The white in the green areas looks to be plain quartz. I couldn't scratch the slab anywhere. So I guess this makes it Unakite? Thanks for the help guys

it certainly is NOT serpentine!
And it's unusual.
And it is very pretty.
And, importantly. I know almost zero about unakite.

but it would be an unusual ukanite Daniel, is Unakite a species of granite? From the descriptions I have recently read, that is the impression I now have.

yes it is a granite. but I have a piece where there is a white flow similar to the pink one here. I am sure I do not know all the variety/location of unakite. greatslabs.com had a unakite with long flow of red but most of what come sup in google images for "unakite slab" has a more macro-crystalline look. but if it is not unakite, I am not sure what it is

Could be a very nice Jasp-Agate.
Tom, is there a LOT of it?

Looks like some nice material but not like the Unakite I have. Here is some of the Russian Unakite that I have.
