I got some white polish from someone a few years back. It was not labeled and was wondering is there any way to tell the two apart, so I will know what I have Tin or Aluminum oxide?

Side by side I can tell them apart. Tin Oxide is not quite as white and tends to absorb water to be a bit clumpy. But how do you know it is one of the two -- there are many polishes and polish mixes. Either way I would not trust an unknown polish for a mission critical job - lapping, sphere polish, putting on a pad.
In other words, only use it where cross contamination is not as big an issue - tumbling.
