Saw still not perfect or perhaps I am just obsessing!!! Don't know for sure but I got the wobble slowed down enough to cut some bone!

From a lady that wants a cab cut from a piece of larimar she got when she was on vacation. She had a bunch of other rock & no way to cut it so in exchange for cutting her some cabs for her & her students I got a box of rocks & a 2 pound chunk of dino bone was part of it. Got a nice piece of poppy too!!!

Wow, that's some Totally Terrific Triassic Tricertops Tibia there! :-) Hey, Donnie - how'd you reduce the wobble on your saw? What was causing it? My homemade saw seems to wobble, might actually be the blade isn't perfectly flat. If it isn't, I will never buy another Covington blade ever. C-ya, Rick

Howdy there Rick!!!!! Turns out a good part of the wobble was because I had the blade nut too tight. After I loosened the nut some, per John's instructions, the wobble got less wobbly. Thank you John for that! I still have to check a couple of other things, like the motor pulley, the flanges, etc but right now the wobble is reduced enough I can cut. Next time I need to change oil, which won't be long, I will tend to the other things. James thanks so much for your help. When I replaced the motor pulley I made sure it was sitting in an area so that when I tighten down the set screw it was on a smooth flat surface of the motor shaft. I also cleaned the shaft off with some fine sand paper so I think that helped also. Daniel also had some good info & was very helpful. You might want to check your blade first & go from there.

Wow - I wonder how tight is "too" tight? I loosened mine a little bit. Still some saw marks. What really helped was pounding the warp out of my brand new Covington Black CR blade. Dadgum it, what the heck is wrong with Covington's blades??? I had two Gold series 14 inchers previously. Both wobbled like crazy right out of the box. You could even see the "potato chip" shape and dings along the notched rims. Now I've tried the "next grade higher" and thicker and the same thing. Do you think maybe sellers on ebay might only have like "factory seconds"? I got the 3 blades from 2 different guys... C-ya, Rick BTW - I never thanked you for the great slabs you sent me - THANKS!!!!! :-)
