I wouldn't presume to represent most people on the forum. Judging by THIS section of the forum, my opinions are obviously not the majority opinion. On the other hand, per the forum stats, in the last 24 hours, 123 members and 1500+ 'Guests' have been reading this forum. On this thread, at most there have been 6 active posters. Who's to say what 'most people' think? "most people" don't post, we have no idea what they read however. Whether a topic is interesting or not isn't up to anyone to decide, not me, and not you. That you don't find someone's topic interesting is just fine. There are loads of topics I don't find interesting, and I don't say anything on them. I ONLY comment on topics that interest me at the moment, as do you. So don't say this topic doesn't interest you, or you wouldn't be talking on it. I don't see you on every topic on the forum. That said, I can't think of a topic on earth that can ever provide 'too much' information. Ever. There's always someone who appreciates a little bit more information. But you knew that. I just don't get why you had to be so mean about it. And for the record, I think you're a lovely woman too. We can disagree, but I have never known you to be outright mean to anyone. It just took me back, that's all. This coincides with what I was saying earlier. Look at how many people are members and lurkers compared to how many people actually participate. Why is there so little participation? Could it be that they are afraid to post in fear of the few people one these boards, such as Don, who will rampage their asses if they dare question the king or post something that another ruler on these boards does not agree with? |

It wasn't on one of my threads Helen. I voiced an opinion on someone else's thread. A little bit later vegasjames came in, in all of his brilliant glory, and countered what I had said. Don, why can't we all just get along? We've had our fights (well you probably still think we're fighting, but I don't). Life's too short to fight about nothing... but we can learn til the day we die. Even when people disagree, there's still things to be learned from both sides, don't you think? Don does not care. He wants to continue playing victim. I did try to bury the hatchet a while back by offering some suggestions when he was looking for his specimen container foam. He did not care I was trying to be helpful. Not even a tiny thanks for the assistance. He just kept being the same old mean bastard. |

They may be afraid to post, but its's not in fear of people like Don. I believe the only thing I "accused" you of was being intelligent, that you were wasting your time on us. I won't presume to speak for the rest of the members, but I, for one, am not interested in all the crap that you have been posting. I thought Helen was bad, you are worse! I've got no problem with going off-topic, but a full page of "facts" and links gleaned from the internet to back them up is a bit excessive.
I always wonder when obnoxious people land here, how many other forums have they previously been kicked off of?
Stay, go, do what you want. But realize that nobody likes a "know-it-all", and soon it will only be you and Helen reading each other's posts. You deserve each other.

I don't see that VegasJames needed 'rescuing' on his own thread he started. What I did was simply point out how rude it was to tell HIM to leave his own thread, or that he provided too much information to you, when not everyone feels it was too much information, or we wouldn't still be talking about it. It's pretty easy to simply not respond if you weren't interested in the subject yourself. Yet you did. Why don't YOU leave? I started the thread to try and lighten things up here. But of course some people just love to hate and had to start spouting their false crap. And when I post evidence to the contrary I am once again the "bad guy". To make matters worse there are several people on these boards who feel that they are so important that they and they alone should dictate what can be said on these boards and who should be allowed to post. Definite delusions of grandeur. If these people did not want to deal with me then they did not have to read my posts or respond. They simply want to stir the shit some more to get their cheap jollies. Well, lets see now, this thread turned to a discussion about crap right about here. I would have posted it myself, but it involves a third person who is not involved in this discussion and therefore I am not going to stoop to involving them when they don't want involved and because what they wrote was personal. I am not one of those creeps that scours the internet to find information a poster on these boards who did not reveal certain personal information just to try and cause problems for that person. Only a complete low life would pull such a stunt. |

Helen, given the chance, I can get along with anyone. But when they launch personal attacks on me, the friendship quickly ends. When people copy information from something they googled, and try to make it appear that the info came from their own brain, instead of being honest and posting the whole link and giving credit where credit is due, that person very quickly earns my contempt. That isn't info that they personally know. It's stolen info from another person or people. I try to learn something new each and every day. If I think something I've learned is important enough, I'll share it on this and other forums. But if it's something I've learned from the internet or another person, I'll give credit where credit is due. I may be getting old, but learning is keeping my mind young and sharp. I watched my father sit in his recliner and turn into a vegetable. He died of Alzheimer's. I don't intend to die the same way he did. Let's see who really launched the personal attacks. Don, this arguing has gotten totally ridiculous. As I stated in an earlier thread I generally do not get in to political or religious discussions since both a quick way to make enemies out of friends.
I am tired of all the back and forth bickering and thus am asking if you are willing to put all the past arguments behind us and can we start over as friends? If so I am willing to put it all behind us as well.

This political category needs to be here for political discussions. My opinion. And serves as a scratch pad and arena for settling forum issues/politics.
If you do not designate a cage for the cage fights then they may happen in other categories. This forum is open to all to join and unscrupulous folks are going to join and be part of it's operation. I would like the freedom to complain about attacks and abuse some where
on this forum for people that cause problems.
The other categories are basically a refuge and segregated from this political category. Seems to work for me.
