Sorry to post another pudding stone wrap but I am pulling stones off my etsy and I had a good amount of these cabs done so they make good practice wraps. If I counted right this is wrap #8. This cab was only .625" wide and its the only cab I have done in this shape but I kinda like it now that its wrapped. I need to start practicing some frill and swirls but I really dont think these busy type of stones look as good with them. Any advice on selling copper wraps without doing the LOS patina process? Should just put these away until I can get the stuff to do that or is it ok to sell these in raw copper form? thanks for looking Chuck

Looks good, Chuck. Do you mind if I ask- why don't you do a patina if you are concerned about raw copper? It's easy to do. I have never sold any raw copper. I haven't tried, though.

I think I would rather have the patina done. I just didn't know about that part when I placed my wire order. Do you think any local stores would carry the LOS? If not I'll just wait a couple weeks till I can place another wire order. I probably need to get a pound of stainless shot to tumble them while I am at it too. Is one pound enough in a 3 lb barrel?
thanks, Chuck

I don't know of any local places to sell LOS. When you get it, I recommend the gel or drops, not the rocks. 1 lb mixed shot is enough. I did a thread recently on tumbling. I suggest some cushioning plastic pellets, too. But you can do without. You don't have to tumble to LOS, btw.

I was thinking of tumbling first to remove any small tool marks and clean them up then do the liver of sulfer process. I am using all half hard wire and these don't have any swirls so I dont think I really need the tumbler to harden the wire. Does this seem like a good plan or should I skip the tumbler?
Thanks Chuck

Nice shape and nice wrap. If you do add a patina, I would like to see a comparison of before & after.

Thanks Chuck Chuck, lots of people do without, however, I always use mine. I do find that you get the best finish on the metal and the best patina when you tumble. I wouldn't be without mine.

I have not got the courage to try that yet Chuck. You passed that bump. Well done.
