Once I get rolling again, I plan to fill a few decorative bowls. One will be "free take one" the other will be "have a look, ain't they bitchen?"

The museum here has a couple of bins that volunteers fill up with rocks so the children and tourists can have a piece of Wyoming. I take agate rough. Kids love agates whether they are polished or not but I am sure polished rocks would win if they were sitting side by side. Jim

My wife always asks, "What are you going to do with those rocks when you are finished"? If the truth be known, she finds more uses for them than I do! She puts them around her potted plants, and cacti. She has glued them on a wooden bird house. By the way, it is pretty cool! Now she is talking about glueing some of the smaller ones on the edges of some picture frames. I give them away to friends and of course, the grand-kids.
Now, let hear some other "uses" for our tons of polished stones. Aquariums and glass jars and bowls are noted above. Let's hear about the very unique uses too.

You can make a whole "Playground" for kids out of tumbled rocks,,,, I made some going down a "Slide" and a couple on a Teeter-Totter,,,,or See-Saw as we used to call it! A few rocks, string, sticks, glue and goo-goo eyes, etc, etc,,,and a little imagination! connrock

The swinging stones are great. The guy on the right needs to lose weight before the board breaks.LOL

That playground idea is great, thanks for the pic. We get a cylindrical glass vase that will accept a candle of choice, set that into a larger vase of the same height, and fill the space between w/polished agates. The candle makes a nice gentle light. We also make indoor fountains in plastic tubs about 18" in diameter. We find we can really turn our imaginations loose with these. Generally cover the outside with wooden staves. I get fountains of "questionable appeal" for next to nothing at garage sales and take the pumps out of them.

Something else you can do that requires a broken slab is to make puzzles. I broke this Brizilian Agate slab and finished it in my Lot-O-Tumbler,,, I made quite a few of these years ago. connrock

I have a friend that likes me to tumble bigger stones, so that she can use them for hot rock massages.
