I didn't find much information about replacement motors for my uv-10 on line. Only one I saw was 79 bucks and I was wondering if there is a better price out there? I don't think they can be repaired because of the size but has anyone been able to replace it with some other type motor? Bruce

Update! The motor quit running for me. I could get it to start up again if I spun the fan then it would work. That of course didnt last long. It was dead and just humming at me before long. I took the motor off and where the bearings on both ends of the shaft were it seemed loose and the bearings were not held in place well. Taking the motor shaft out, the inside where the bearings are held in place was wore down. It looked like when you take a windshield wiper arm off the car... those kind of nubs but rounded out from wear. I took some plumbers emery cloth and lined both sides of where the bearings fit into the housing just like you would to fix the windshield wiper arms that were wore down. It fired up and is running like a top. I guess the vibrations had wore down the ends holding it steady so it locked up. Not sure how long it will last but it could last quite some time as smooth as it sounds right now. I will check it for heat later just to make sure its ok. Just thought anyone that has the same problem, this could be a quick. New motors about 100.00 including shipping so Im happy with my rigged up vibe motor for now. Bruce
