The welfare and medical check ups are w/out funds- thanks again to the money spending Obamachine. I have noticed you have been laying low this month. I am sure that it is difficult to make appearances. In light of the obvious failures of Obameconomy. A shame...

Obama? That's why Florida's real estate crashed in 2007? Obama took office for the first time Jan 2009. Try again.

And since Obama there are so many bank owned houses that the banks are tearing them down, rather than pay upkeep on them.

I've seen NO houses being torn down in Florida now that you mention that. Some should be, they've been abandoned since 2007. Banks are tearing down homes in the Dakotas?

<Quote Helen> -- Don... you keep talking about Welfare... did you not read the note after this one? There IS no Welfare in the US anymore. It went out in 1997. You are proposing to bring it BACK?? So they changed the name. It's still welfare, no matter what they call it. Good try Helen, but that bird don't fly. Damn Helen. Ya went and flapped that left wing so hard that ya went and broke it. In the United States, welfare may also be used in a more specialized context, to refer specifically to what was historically known as Aid to Families with Dependent Children, and is now known as Temporary Assistance to Needy Families. Since 1997 this system has been handled by the states, who use money given to them by the Federal government as they see fit. This welfare system is limited to a maximum of 60 months during the recipient’s lifetime, and has a requirement that while receiving assistance the recipient must be actively seeking new employment. Welfare by any other name is still welfare. You quoted something and didn't read it? This system is handled by the STATE. It is NO LONGER a Federal program. The STATES are not the Federal Gov't. Sounds like all your complaining is about your own state.

A local developer underestimated his costs and tore out an unfinished bunch of spec houses to avoid paying fines, and this has to do with Obama? Are you joking?
Obama gave away houses? Where's yours? Where's mine?

And since Obama there are so many bank owned houses that the banks are tearing them down, rather than pay upkeep on them. As some would say, the housing bust had nothing to do with the president, Bush or Obama. Congress wrote the bills mandating that lenders give loans to people who could not afford them. What party was in charge when the bills were written? What party said there was no problem when warned by the Bush administration? What party did nothing to stop Bush or Obama from spending like a drunken Kennedy, in fact encouraged it? Where's mine? Helen, mine was bought and payed for long before Obama came on the scene. But I'll bet you only selectively read the links, (as usual). It was the Democrat congress at the time who set aside billions of tax payer dollars to bail out home buyers who thought they had to buy houses costing way over their their means to pay for. Mine was custom built, and was paid for in cash. No mortgage to pay off. We built what we knew we could afford. But then my wife and I scrimped and saved until we could afford to build. It's a little thing called hard work and sacrifice. Nothing was handed to us on a silver platter. We didn't get in over our heads, and we didn't go looking for government funded bailouts. (Make that tax payer funded bailouts). I might add that my truck and my wife's SUV, a very expensive JD lawn tractor and everything else in our house is paid for. And neither of us came from a privileged background. No family handouts to help us.

Who gets family handouts and what does it have to do with Obama or the housing crisis?

LOL Kap. At least she's not hijacking every thread to brag about her new granite counter tops, like she was a couple weeks ago.

Helen your personal charity is proof of my point. People, Churches and charities are now hamstrung by liberal politics. Bloomberg won't let restaurants provide food to shelters because 'he' cannot be sure of the salt content. Who cares? those folks need calories, not regulated salt content. Salt isn't even a dietary issue. Recently proven to be a non-sequitor in heart health except for VERY small insignificant part of the population.
The fact you personally chose to be charitable is proof my concept is the way to go.
Here in LA "soup kitchens" are regulated to death. They cannot even let the folks benefitting from the food volunteer to help operate the kitchen. I could write a lengthy operations plan on how this should proceed. Not worth the effort. Socialism is the law of the land, and I cannot change it.
Helen, thank you for your charitable efforts. You positively effected the lives of at least one american hero and a few at risk youths. Thank you.
