Hey everyone I'm a stay at home mum from Ohio and found out about lapidary through various web searches.
I decided to invest in a small rock tumbler and a good pair of hiking shoes.
So far my first batch came out terribly because I stupidly followed the instructions on the box. Alas after many hours spent in my local store and many many questions later I am happily on my second batch which I have to say are turning out wonderfully.
Not sure if I want to progress to jewelry making yet but for now I'm quit happy to hoard over my stones like a dragon over it's eggs screaming "my preciouses"
Thanks so much for creating this site it's great for beginners like me with so many questions.
Hope to speak to you all soon.

Welcome from California!
Your quote: Wishing I had the math skills to be a geologist! Me, too. If they were all word problems, minus formulas or most numbers, I would do well.

Welcome aboard from a fellow Buckeye. Where abouts in Ohio are you from? I live just outside of Columbus in Bellefontaine. I still consider myself a novice as well. Lots of great information on this board. Make sure you post some of your tumble photos
