My buddy in Turkey has $2-3000'ish to spend on a new cab machine. He is seeking guidance on which to buy and I have zero clue. Would you guys be so kind to help him?
He is leaning towards the covington power feed. This due to advice on facebook. He is a good man and will appreciate your input.
Thank you.

Scott I have a Pixie so I can not give you any feedback on the Titan but I have allways heard if you have the cash thats the way to go. I like my Pixie but its way to small for my big hands wish i would have waited and bought the bigger Genie or Titan. They are American made and Diamond Pacific will stand behind them if you have a problem which is rare. I have been to Barstow and toured the plant where they put them together. The owners are very nice people to talk to and very helpful and even gave me some free rock and drew me maps of places to go collecting around Barstow. They would rather you go to one of thier dealers than sell you one as you can get a better deal that way. They give thier dealers a discount that they will not give you. George

I've liked my Genie since the day I bought it, way back in the early 90's. Diamond Pacific sells them with the 220 V, 50 Cycle motors too, which is what your buddie would need over there. The Titan would be a larger machine, but the Genie is a good all around machine in my opinion.
And yes, Diamond Pacific does stand behind their machines. When I bought my Genie, the motor froze up within the first 15 minutes of using it. I was just down the road from them. I called and explained the problem, and the next day they picked up my machine and left another new machine in its place.

Genie or Titan, depends on if you want 6" or 8" wheels. Good product and good customer service.

Are you sure he's wanting a cab machine because you mention covington power feed which is a saw not a cab machine. Not trying to be anal but maybe the guy is so unfamiliar with lapidary he is not getting his story straight across?

haha! Good catch Rob. That is my stupid mistake. www.covington-engineering.com/combo_6_d.html is what he was looking at. He wants USA made. He has a 24" saw. Took him 6 months from purchase to receipt at his place. He is building a lapidary school over there.

No combos, they are just a waste of good shop space. Also in a school atmosphere where a cabber could run almost continuously, and in the hot climate of Turkey, I don't recomend anything with a sealed, non air cooled motor. Motor will be fried within a few months. A genie is a nice hobbyist machine but not good for a school. For the price get two stainless 6 inch 6 wheel arbors from Lortone and have a backup.

I've had a Genie for several years. Very good machine.
Big Foot, Pixie, Genie, and Titan are all Diamond Pacific. Size is different for each. Titan is king!
