The green bug bores in rotten wood beef. It is a click beetle. Turn it on it's back and it bows up and can click into the air several feet. Over here they have fake eyes on their back The frog is unique. Interested to see what Scott/Mel says it is. I was looking at how pretty your sand and gravel is. You have it made in Agateland. Always find cool ones. That wash is irresistible rock hunt spot. Check out our click bug, i have never seen that green.Hell, even your bugs OD on color

The frog is the Canyon Treefrog (Hyla arenicolor). I'll bet you were in the blue area: The metallic green click beetle is awesome! Brian, if you ever need to sort out an animal you find the Reptiles of AZ website is awesome. Or, you can just ask me. what's a friend for?!?!!?! edited to add - Brian you sure got some nice stones.

Always nice to see pics of trips away from the cities.
Thanks for sharing.
Your green beetle might be an Asian immigrant. Don't know anything about them, but they do seem quite common around here. Have seen them in several countries here in Asia (from an inch to three).

that lightening rock is very cool.. always fascinated by that stuff!!! I see in the 2nd frog picture that he is looking t some really nice looking rock... I thin the spider was there to help make sure you saw the nice color on those rocks on front of the frog!!!

Great trip photos, Brian! I have seen on the news that AZ is getting a lot of rain. Had me going, looking at all the scenery shots, was wondering if maybe this time you didn't find rocks for collecting. . . silly me. . .
