Unfortunatly the day as come that I was afraid of. I have had Rheumatoid Arthritus for several years and it has been pretty mild. It decided to rage in my body these past few weeks. Worse than it has ever been! The news from my doctor is that it will only get worse from here. They will try to manage it with medications but they can't make it go backwards. It is mostly in my hands and my knees. So that means I will have less time with my rocks. It is difficult to cab since my hands are in so much pain. Anywho, I have quite a collection of awesome rock and will be getting ready to sell some of it off. The bigger pieces probably will never get cut and I have enough small pieces ready to cab. I couldn't cab them all in my lifetime! I have no one in my family that is interested in rock so I will begin to offer up on here in the Buy, Sell board. So keep your eyes peeled! Also, for the believers on this board, please keep me in your prayers. I am really scared. After overcoming my horrid childhood, then alcoholism, then Cancer and now this. I am trying not to feel sorry for myself and just keep on truck'n. Thank you all, Sheri

Sheri, you're such an incredibly strong woman to have been through so much, and you have such a huge heart! You're in my prayers too. (hugs)

Sheri I will be praying for you and that the pain and disability are not too bad. I don't believe here on earth is the end, but rather the starting, learning center. God Bless. - Mark

That's a bummer Sheri! Hang in there!
If you can't find good care where you are, make an effort to get a second opinion elsewhere. Best wishes for pain relief and prevention!

Sheri RA is a despicable disease. My SIL has it. Wifey has the gene. Thankfully wifey does not have it and SIL is in remission after only a mild bout.
Sending strong emanations of good thoughts your way.

Keep up the fight Sheri. As Deb193redux posted there are some new meds available now that have been true breakthroughs for RA. My thoughts are with you

Hi Sheri Sorry to hear about your health problem. I to am a person who suffers with chronic pain. For the last 10 years I have been non morphine. My wife who is not a believer in medication brought this pain remedy to my attention. It has been successfully used to treat people with bone cancer for their pain. It is one of the amino acids and it is called DLPA DL-Phenylalanine. I have been taking 1500mg a day and it has made it possible to decrease my need for morphine. Give it a try it really does work. Sending strong emanations of good thoughts your way. RA is not hereditary. It is a bacterial induced autoimmune condition. The disease itself is reversible, but not the joint deformations.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. Daniel, biologics are not an option for me because of my cancer history (so I have been told) That darn cancer seems to interfere with everything! LOL I will keep fighting this stupid disease and never give in to it! I will still rock when I can and will NEVER miss Quartzite!! Sheri
