Howdy folks, A few of us have been having conversations on the vast number of "Lace Agate" varieties. Got me looking through some of my pics so I figured Id just continue the discussion with more pictures and show how trade names are running wild in the lace division...Mel Manhatten Mine Lace Agate from near Napa, CA One of my Favorites, Royal Purple Aztec Lace from Durango, Mexico Aztec Purple, not the same as Royal Aztec Purple and more of a moss, also Durango Nodular Crazy lace from Chihuahua, mexico Quetzacoatal Lace, a weird matrix one: Mexico Black Laguna Lace in nodular form: Sabinal, Mexico Amethyst Lace from Durango, Mx. Fine Line Bubble Lace: Chihuahua Red Crazy Lace, Chihuahua Cactus Lace, Chihuahua Sowbelly ( Amethystine) Lace, Colorado Summerville Lace, Georgia Missouri Lace Agate ( redline lace when the red line is present) Black Lace, Sabinal, MX

Thanks for posting those, Mel. Now I'm going to have to dig out the ones I have, compare and try to name them.
The snake business went through the same "trade names" mess, especially once they started propagating new color morphs. Everyone had different ideas about what was "different enough" from the last one to justify a new name. And then there were all the locality names as well. Jean

"Lace" seemd to be a generic name for a huge variety of fortification agates. Some of these names here are familiar to me, like Royal Aztec, but others I've never head of, such as Fine Line Bubble Lace.

Very Nice, The Laces can be so Cool. I really Like the Royal Purpel Aztec, but all of the are exceptional.

Well in that case Mel I am going to put you to work ID'ing some of my unknowns: Not too many, just a hundred to start LOL. Actually I do have a few I need steering in the right direction, I will post them in the appropriate place. You truly are a human encyclopedia of rocks, wish I had you on my bookshelf Tom
