Please keep in mind these are just rocks that I find along the river in my area. They aren't really anything special like Lace Agates or Picture Jaspers. Part of the reason I got my saw was just to investigate what is inside the rocks. This is from a big blue-ish rock Closer This one had a nice smooth finish to the rock, but looks more gritty when I cut it open Same with this one. It had a nice smooth redish-orange outside, but more gritty on the inside This one at least has some agating in the blue-gray areas of it. Doesn't show up as well in the picture No clue what's going on here This one I thought was interesting, because the buff/yellowish areas appear to have a cellular structure to them like plants This one looks alot like the first big one This one had a few bands at the top, but they stop And for good measure, a little geode. The opening isn't big on the face, but it wraps around inside the stone.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to peer inside every rock you find. Learning to predict what that rock is going to look like inside by feeling the outside of the rock and especially any broken edges is something that will come after you have cut hundreds of slabs and wondered why you cut that rock. But hey its all fun. Congratulations on peering into those rocks. Rivers are like a library. All kinds of things aggregate there and proximity of location means nothing. Enjoy. Tom

Don, it looks like you have a nice river to rock hound in! Congrats on the new hobby. Folks, Don was humble and did not put his website in his signature. I have a new colleague here. www.psychoticnature.com/I am digging the grey treefrog image. Nice work Don. ==============now back to your regular programming! I like this stone very well.
