Hey Scott - we've hijacked your post with comments of hijacking, Kamikaze songs, and Australian bands.
You gotta come back and talk about the rocks! We're desperate!
Now back to your regular programming!

Can't speak for anyone else, but I made it home and finished unloading about a half hour ago. The weather was beautiful, no one got stuck (didn't have to use the tow rope, James), got to meet and greet some more great RTH members, AND brought home about 1.625 tons of some kool rocks! My camera developed a problem, so I didn't get a single photo , but Tommy, Eva and David were taking a bunch, so I think we're good. More tomorrow. I missed y'all. Jean

ohh............... lol you are all a bunch of jackasses................ You knew we were out there working hard on all y'alls behalf. And what do we get? A bunch of hijackers...................... So, I'll begin to bring this thread to an end with a short summary. 5 trucks, 7 people attended. @shotgunner (o'course), Tommy (and lovely bride Eva), barclay (Paul), rockpickerforever (and her cheerful hubby Bob), drycreek (David) All went well, I got us to the fluorite mine in one direct drive. 14.9 miles from the highway takes 1.25 hours on dirt roads when you have a caravan of 5 trucks and a leader who has only been there once before. We met Friday night for Eva's bbq burgers and campfire, Jean arrived earlier than expected, we all woke early saturday (except me) and headed into the hills. I did make one mis-cue by missing the turn after the train tracks. Easily fixed we made the turn and drove directly and exactly to the fluorite mine. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. roy sent prizes and we found categories to make sure everyone was a winner! All got a few of his stones. elementary provided a bucket of "samples" so our friends would know what to look for. In exchange for these treasures we accepted his challenge to collect the discarded mylar balloons that litter the wilderness out there. It's is crazy. Save for dirt roads and obvious mine spots there is little human influence visible at all. Desert rats "pack it out". They take pictures and leave nothing but footprints. Civilization scores of miles away litter the area with mylar balloons, never even knowing the results of those released Hello Kitty birthday balloons. Lowell likes to clean them out as found. We complied and really did well in this respect. I found the first as leader of the caravan, David found a very recent one (photo from Paul soon), I found another while prospecting and the grand prize goes to Eva and Tommy for finding three on the way out! I'll figure a way to get them a prize for their efforts.

It is 5:20 on the west coast and we STILL do not have photos and a full report on the trip. What is wrong with you people. Don't you know that we have been sitting here staring at the computer all weekend waiting for this report. Is this how you treat your friends? I am thinking excommunication or maybe worse like making you sit and look at nude photos of old people. This problem need to be resolved immediately. HELLO? HELLO? Is anybody there? Sheesh Jim

Sheesh Jim Hahaha Sorry but there's a big dirty truck in my driveway full of gear and rocks that ain't gonna unpack or photograph themselves. Trip report to follow - tonight hopefully. For now, here's a little photo to whet your appetite...(big guy is about 40lbs 68lbs, little guy about 20 41 ... It's heavily fractured but we're going to pressure wash it and maybe take some better photos later).

Jim, we said we'd post pics of the trip. We didn't say when. Maybe next week? Would that be soon enough for you?
I have a feeling that there are a few people moving slowly this morning, I know Bob was feeling the effects of the weekend. I'm pretty sure Scott is, too. How's the smashed finger, Scott?
Me personally, I feel great! No aches or pains. Got a few new bumps and bruises here and there, the worst one on the back of my arm was caused by Capt Morgan, I'm pretty sure... Or maybe it was the Fireball shooters? Not painful, just pretty colors.
Finger tips are sore, have "skin splits" at corners of both thumb nails, and several fingers. Kept bumping them, making them bleed. Put some superglue on them when I got home. Otherwise, wouldn't even be able to type this!
There is one plant out there that I have new respect for - cat-claw mesquite. It doesn't look like much, pretty wimpy looking, in fact. But if you get your hand/leg/arm anywhere near it, you'll come away with bleeding pinholes in you!
Patience, Jim! Will post some stuff this afternoon.

I just want to know how many creosote bushes you guys peed on for me ? I'll take credit for dozens! I killed a 18 pack of beer so I just wandered around with liquid fertilizer.
