After all these months of talk, talk, talk, you didn't take one image?!?!?! Geez Scott! Guess you'll have to go back and take some. We'll patiently wait. I want to know what this famous Pepto Bismol hill looks like.

When it comes to photos, instantly isn't fast enough but I know that ya'll were doing us a good deed being out there wearing your fingers to splithood so we the common people could see how much fun the A-listers have.
You should know that we could turn on you and not look at your photos. Then you would be sorry and probably cry for a week.
If you have a problem with split fingers let me know because they have some stuff here for the farmers that will heal them up fast and prevent them from returning. Works way better than super glue. Jim

What, no pictures yet and Scott spent too much time drinkin beer and peeing on creosote bushes to take any. Dude! Scott, you need to get yore priorities straight! Least you can do is pee on rocks and post pics of them wet so's the colors show up real nice. The wife found one of my best palm bog boulders that way *L*......Mel

Jim, I think we'll all have pics up soon. I still have to resize mine.
Yes, I do have problems with split fingers! The superglue only works for a while, until you jam it on something. Then it opens up and starts bleeding again. And it really sucks when you have them on numerous fingers and both thumbs. I can't do anything! When I was at my parent's house today, my dad showed me somethng in a tube that he uses, but I forget the name of it. Something to do with cracks.
Let me know what you use, I'm all ears.

I had three trip mates taking pics so I did not bother. Tommy's camera is better than mine. Patience is a virtue found in short supply here. Glad I got to see it first hand! lol

Understand you guys went to that green rock quarry north of the freeway. Is that marble? I have no idea what it is but sure is a lot of it. Let me know if it takes a polish. And was it not awesome weather out there or what?

Larry,
Scott, barclay, Bob and I stopped at the Green Monster mine you are referring to. Bob and I stayed in the general vicinity for three to four hours. I brought some of it home, found some that looked pretty glossy. Found one small chunk that has a cool yellow swirl through it. Will let you know how it polishes when I can get to it. Jean

And was it not awesome weather out there or what? It does seem to be marble-ish. It's definitely not granite. It doesn't have the typical white frosting marble quarries all get from the pH of rainwater degrading the surface of the stones. I did not take any (not my thing) so I have to defer to barclay & Tommy & rockpickerforever to put some pool acid on theirs to test for bubbles. The material does have a "lustrous" nature to the surface and the breaks are conchoidal and not grainy. I expect a nice polish, but again will defer to my friends because, lately, the rocks break my heart. It will not surprise me to learn it is serpentized marble. a nice dolomite or even a green magnesite. Jean, I don't think it's the "green monster mine" because that is a hard rock in the Inyo mountains farther north.

Scott, I believe you on the name of the mine. That's what someone told me it was, no clue if he was right or not. Okay, I think y'all have been waiting long enough. Since my camera decided to quit focusing on this trip, I was unable to take any pictures (not my choice!), so any photos taken on site Bob took with his phone. Crack of dawn Saturday morning ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/Photo0462A.jpg) Before the tents came down ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/Photo0464A.jpg) First stop was the fluorite mine. These pics taken after I got home. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04316A.jpg) This was a good sized chunk. Pretty dense, too. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04317A.jpg) Some had nice color, don't know how solid it is. Will find out. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04323A.jpg) Some intersting fluorite crystals. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04322A.jpg) This is Saturday night in the "cul-de-sac ." Some protection from the wind, even cell phone coverage! I could've spent an entire day just walking a grid through this area. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/Photo0469A.jpg) Didn't take a picture of the calling card the kit fox left, but here's the shirt I was wearing. That's about what it looked like, alright! ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04344A.jpg) Sunday evening, before unloading. Large green rock came from Green Monster mine. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04300A.jpg) Yeah, this one. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04301A.jpg) I did not get anywhere close to the nice haul that Tommy and Eva made. Here's a few of the smalls. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04305A.jpg) There's gotta be a few cabs in there. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04311A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04312A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04313A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04314A.jpg) This one almost had a "bird's eye" pattern to it. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04315A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04330A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04341A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04345A.jpg) And the bigger stuff. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04324A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04327A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04334A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/N%20Cadys%20Nov%202013/DSC04332A.jpg) I've only scratched the surface, as far as what I hauled home. I haven't even washed it off yet. Should I come accross anything else interesting, I'll post more pics. I also have some photos taken when we were at the Green Monster mine. After getting some green rocks, we happened upon a location to the west of there that had a bunch of bubbly/foamy agate. In areas, the ground was just covered with fist to hand sized chunks, five feet away, nothing. Brought some of it home, will have to open some up and see what's in there. I'll get some pics of that area up soon. I hope the photos were worth waiting for.

elementary - and everybody - This is an important spot, if for no other reason than the safety provided by three bars of cell service. There is a line of sight directly to large cell towers along I-15 from this spot. 35.00425, -116.3336 Google Earth image in relation to the fluorite mine. ![](http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7446/10937003394_cb9aaee1c5_o.jpg)

Very nice jean! I googled green monster mine and found a youtube of some dudes spelunking it. They described it as Inyo mountains. Sure fits that place tho'. There are three "Green Monster" mines in California on Mindat - Inyo, Kern and Mono counties. There are others with same name outside the state. Green Monster Mine, Kearsarge, Kearsarge District, Inyo Co., California, USA Green Monster Mine, White River area, Kern Co., California, USA Alexander Mine (Green Monster Mine), Mount Hogue, White Mts, Mono Co., California, USA But I wonder what the name of this location is? And what is the green rock there?

Here's a few pics of the green rock quarry. Photo taken coming back to it, not how you'd see it from the front. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0484A.jpg) This is a big pit that is out in front of the hill ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0487A.jpg) This is the piece that Tommy gave me the day before This one should take a good polish. I like the lighter green color. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/DSC14309A.jpg) The smaller chunks. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/DSC14306A.jpg) This is the agate that we found to the northwest of the green rock hillside. Lots of it! ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0475A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0473A.jpg) Oops, missed this one. Some of this is blue-grey inside, some is a yellow-grey. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0476A.jpg) ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0477A.jpg) Cute barrel cactus ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/Photo0479A.jpg) The big mo yard rock ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/DSC14342A.jpg) Lucy wanted to get in the picture. ![](http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/jeanatrandjproductsdotcom/green%20rock%20quarry/DSC14343A.jpg) That should about do it. Great pics folks. Keep them coming! Diane & I explored the hills/valleys north/behind the Green Monster. Found jasper in the washes so figured there would be more in the area. Suppose to be lots of Indian artifacts around the shore lines of the dry lake beds. Plus lots of ancient fish traps. Most of these dry lakes were full of water 500/1000 years ago. Looks like you guys have plenty of variety to play with. Looking forward to seeing your slabs.
