Just wanted to say Scott that I appreciate your pulling this together and for being willing to take a pre-run with Lowell and publishing the coords. I think it's a very efficient plan.
You'll have a better sense of this after your visit there but from what I've been reading about the drive to pepso-bismo hill I think we should encourage groupings as much as possible. We are staying in Barstow on Thursday night which means we are two possibly three vehicles that can commit to a fairly accurate time to meet at the freeway exit on Friday morning.

Scott, I am going to heavily rely on you getting coordinates of the camp site. Knowing the hounding locations can wait until Saturday morning. Will not be able to leave here until about 9pm Friday night (Nov 15), so it'll be around midnight before we are in the area. I will be able to use Acme Mapper before leaving home to see the spot, and the route to get in there. But it will depend on the condition of the road how far we can drive in in the dark. May have to just find a good place to stop, and drive in when it starts to get light out. Be sure to PM me your cell number (hopefully will have reception out there?) in case we can't find the group. Shouldn't, but best to be prepared. Have never been there before.
What's the story on fire wood? Are open fires allowed out there? I can bring some logs and such. I already know, no pallets. They were banned here years ago.

I see I have more homework to do - re- firepits.... (hell with the government closed even pallets might could be ok) I plan to make the campsite in an easy-ish place to get to. That way folks can drag in friday night. Tommy it is my plan to go out friday afternoon too. We can meet at the offramp.

Aren't you a thoughtful soul. I will be in the gullies of coral w/my reptilian and insectivorous buddies. Can not think of a better way to celebrate. I sure have had a good time with this group of forumites.

As far as I know, fires are OK if contained. I have a washing machine tub fire pit I can bring if I make it. It keeps everything under control.

John, holler at me if you're not going to make it. I can bring mine, but I won't be there until Saturday morning.
