The centipede is way cool. All of it looks pretty nice. Where is it from? I have not seen anything similar but I have not seen wood from a lot of places so there may be a lot of it out there. lol

Neato, thanks for sharing! I'm entering a petwood-obsessed phase, so perfect timing!

The first three pics are from Mississippi, probably found in Bayou Pierre(cause that is my favorite haunt!) All the white w/black interior came from Eupora MS a while back. The pet wood there was black and you could not tell the difference between wood that had fallen in the creek and the pet wood unless you tapped it. I cut the end off one, because I saw some black peeking out...and then went and cut the rest of them lol. I don't have a lot of material from that place, but still do have a big piece, prob 70-100lbs I would guess that is still black. I soaked the smaller pieces in Oxalic acid and they turned bright white! COOL!
The first couple of pieces were the reason that I asked a little while back in the cab section about why it was necessary to dome cabs. I got some great answers, but as you can see, some of the shapes are great and I'm thinking of just leaving the edges as they are, doing nothing to them, and then polishing the flat side of both. I'm afraid that if I try to dome it, it won't look very good because I can't get in there in the tight curves and cracks and such. I have been focusing on cutting mostly, gotz crap loads of slabs and slabetes, so will have to experiment when I start poishing. Thanks for looking guys!

I wouldn't cut that awesome one either, that's a spectacular specimen.
