Well since we are discussing grace and style, what does one wear to a Qsite? I mean, what is acceptable attire for going to a rock event of this nature. We don't have them here so I have no idea, LOL!!! i think a RB ROCK SHOP shirt and shorts would be good! I need a 2XL

I think the shows end the last week of January so I wouldn't plan on going in February.

Yeah, what Tony said. When Pow Wow week ended, a good chunk (maybe at least half?) of the Desert Gardens vendors packed up and took off for Tucson. You can google the Pow Wow for its 2014 dates, that's a good week to go.

Desert Gardens have some vendors that stay through February. When we go home from Tucson it amazes me how many are still there. I think all the other shows will be over except Main Event which is pretty much a non event now.

What date will catmandewe's barbecue be? and specifically where? I have no clue the difference between the various venues. @christopher1234 is at "desert gardens"? Talk to me like the id10t that I am (can be)...

We're already planning to be down there. Bro in law in Palm Springs wants to go, too. He's been there before, but it's been a while. All we need is a week of non-brutal weather up here. Deal is, that's about the same timeframe as the Stock Show in Denver. Google "stock show weather" if you're not familiar with the term. We'll be up for camping, rock trips, bonfires, howling at the moon, or whatever comes up.

BBQ Jan 25th at my booth (A22-B22 It is easy to find because it is right next to the Diamond Pacific Building.) at Desert Gardens rock and gem show (1/4 mile east of Loves). Loves is under the big sign next to the freeway that says "LOVES"
We will put up a list of things that need to be brought and people can sign up to bring what they want. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Could someone who is a regular visitor to Quartzite during the month of January give us an idea of what the temperatures are like both at nigh and during the day in Quartzite during that time of year? Thanks!

Depends on the year. Some years it is shorts by 9 am, last year it was cold most of the month, very few of us wore shorts last year and the locals had big heavy coats on. Usually cold at night, sometimes ice in the slab trays in the mornings, sometimes not.
First year I was there it was shorts and a t shirt all the time even most nights, but that hasn't happened since so you can probably plan on cool at night while warming up some days and some days not.

I was there for a week in January of last year. It got down to freezing just about every night, the days were, um, okaaay. But could've been a little warmer for my tastes. The Desert USA site has some info on weather/climate, also an events calendar - here.

Wunderground has a neat travel planner tool. I used it to see the weather from a few days before to a few days after January 25 and here are the results.Highs generally in the 60-70's lows generally 30-40's. My search included 127 days of historical data and 16 had rain. Of the 16 rainy days the maximum was 0.55" and all other "rainy days" had less than 0.10" of rain. There is generally a light breeze but blustery days of 20-30mph wind are not rare. More details here.

Thank you Everyone! I think I've got a pretty good idea now of what the temps are like. I'm on the east coast and would want to fly in. I've found airline tickets for a cheap as $239 round trip which is much cheaper than I could drive it for. But since there are so few hotels around I was thinking about buying a small inexpensive tent and camping. But I'm getting where upper 30's is a little too cool for tent camping without heat for me. When I was in my teens and twenties I did some tent camping without heat in Oregon and Montana with temps in the lower 20s and would wake up with ice in my whiskers and nose from my breath moister condensing and freezing. But that was a long time ago and I'm not that tough anymore! If I could find a camp site with electricity maybe one of those small electric ceramic heaters (or 2) would do the trick.
