Has anybody done any business with www.orerockon.com? He has some nice rocks that I'm interested in, but his pre-sale customer service has me a little concerned. It might be because I'm being too picky in what I'm asking for, but I don't know. |

I bought his CD when I moved to Oregon in 2007. I talked with him a bit too. He is cranky and impatient but honest and knowledgeable. I don't have a more recent report. I suspect "picky" could be hit or miss with him. On a good day he might engage to get exactly what you want, and on another (I imagine) day he might say, "so do you want it or what"

Tim's a good guy, he's in the same rock club as us plus 1 or 2 more. He also has a full time day job so if you're looking for the kind of service a full time dealer may be able to provide you might be diappointed.

I just ordered my first slabs from him... and I'll admit I was a bit nervous to do so after reading his website. Bit of a ranter but he's really spouting off that little voice in the back of your head that speaks up when you haven't had enough coffee.
My batch did contain either something that I didn't notice he was out of, or he ran out in the time I requested it, so I had to pick something new. For my tastes the experience was a bit cold (I'm a freak about giving super-nice service to my customers) but I got exactly what I wanted. I would order again no problem.

I just bought the updated CD from him.
The first time a couple years ago, it was delivered by Ace Ventura and looked it. He took care of it with no question.
I am happy with it so far, even if the CD is a little clunky to learn to navigate.

My order that I was told shipped last Tuesday hasn't yet arrived. Hopefully I'll see it soon requested the tracking number on Friday still haven't scene one.  |

Arrived today. Awesome rock better than I expected. Looking forward to cutting it. I'd say materials are awesome, communication slow, but expected with this not being a full time gig for him.

Thanks for the compliment, glad you liked the rock. Just stumbled on this forum, I don't do much cruising for rock chat online. I will have to admit, in case anyone else is reading, that I do have a sometimes "all my waking hours" job. (Like right now, and I got sick of staring at numbers since I woke up). If you catch me when work is slow, I'm pretty fast at getting orders, and I always take the time to respond to questions as quickly as I can. Like I say on the site, I might take a week if you order on Monday since I can steal time only on (most) weekends. And we're usually out rockhounding 2-4 weeks a year so if I don't email you that's probably because I'm out of range of civilization  I guess I'm pretty fortunate that I get a complaint about the rock I sell once a year or so, and as they say "haters gonna hate". I get many compliments and have customers who have been ordering from me for 10 years or so, so I must be doing something right  |
