Very interested in crystals and wire wrapping techniques, so looks like I found the right board! I frequent Payson to hunt the elusive payson "diamonds" and have found a handful of really really glass clear ones, but most have been not so clear and cracked, but still very beautiful. I have yet to get up to the Date Creek site to poke around up there for stuff.... Now that the weather is cooled off I'll go.

Ill see if I can get some photos up....I think I will have to resize them though as the limit is 1MB and most of mine are 4-5MB per photo. I'm thinking about heading up towards Payson this weekend with my 14 year old and his caregiver...he loves to dig around in the dirt and find those little horned toads...I think it won't be long before the snow flies up there either, so better to go now vs later. Im going to try and find a spot I read about a while ago that has good "diamonds" and skip the Diamond Point area this time.

Welcome to the forum, I live in Montana but frequent Arizona in the winter. I've been to Date Creek a lot so if you have any questions feel free to pm me. I have found a few good crystals there although they tend to be stained because of the dirt. Also you can find limonite cubes there that can be interesting although not really of lapidary value. I've never been to the Payson area but one of these days I may get up there.
