Are there any other locations to look for the double terminated clear crystals besides diamond point? I have also found them near pyeatt draw about 4 miles off Houston Mesa road, and read about another location off Houston Mesa and 65 intersection, but that appears to be private land. I have also heard or read about behind kohls ranch? On the hill behind it or something.

I might have to see if I can find that book in one of the library's here.....I have not seen that thread, but reAd it......the thread on here that talked about the location off Houston Mesa was from 2006 by a poster named Gemkoi? I have tons of those rockhounding books, from different authors and whatnot. I went up to Payson today but only went to DP for about an hour....it's just so beautiful up there!! I live in Phoenix, so I breathe in muck all week long, and look forward to the weekends when I can breathe some. Clean air.

No doubt! And with the cooler weather we all feel better even in Phoenix Waking up on these cool morning - feel like doing something going places. For me that crafting rock'n hearts and going to the Rock shows and hounding ect.... You'll really like that book. I got it from Burton Barr inter library loan Strange that they don't own their own copy Ed

Yep.. That's the thread....but it seems to be all private land up there....I know where that area is and drove by it yesterday....it's all private owned.... Although the exact location was not really given.....I have found small bits and pieces by the geode location before as well.....but damn!!! The bees are awful up there!! I have been stung twice now over the last 3 months, and I have not done anything to irritate them......other than bee in the bees space.

Nope....lol, that's not why..... I think it must be the lotion I use or something.... It does smell like oranges and coconut a bit......but no honey.

o your a diamond in the rough?
A couple bees always come around when I out grinding They get attracted to my drink I took a sip out of the can and one stung me in the mouth and I'm supposedly real allergic to bee stings although, I think, I've built up a tolerance
anyway there not real aggressive but if they don't shoo off I spray them with WD-40 It doesn't kill them but it doesn't do anything for their day, either
