Last night we had our silent auction for the rock club. Members bring related items to the meeting and it is auctioned off with all proceeds going to the club.
Since I have a lot, I donated a lot. I honestly think that I brought in more than everyone else combined. Mind you, I am not trying to brag. I just don't understand why more people who have a butt load of stuff don't donate more to these functions.
One thing for sure though. It sure is nice to see a 8 year old girl be able to buy an expensive chunk of rough with her own money and the look on those kids' faces when they see that they won. I think the big chunk of gem silica I put on there and the girl won was purposely ignored by the adults because she put her bid in on it and the only other ones who bid on it were kids. Even the ones who I suspect would normally step on a kid layed off.
