Hi friends I've recently acquired a couple of bags of Baltic amber and I'm not really sure what to do with it you see as they are mostly really small bits is it possible to melt them into larger workable size pieces and if so how ? any other suggestions would be welcome as I'm at a loss as what to do with it .But they are nice colours and it would be such a shame to not use it ..... Thanks in advance xx

Never worked with amber, but I dont think you can melt them into one single piece. Any pictures???, to help others to help you?

Thanks in advance xx No, you cannot simply melt it. But here is a link that discusses the process of pressing amber. www.green-crafts.com/content/how-recognize-genuine-amberNot really worth the effort unless doing large volumes.

Pictures would be helpful as there can be quite a bit of variation in the interpretation of "small". If it is too small to be worked into ear rings, I would be inclined to drill it and assemble an amber bead piece, perhaps as a necklace to showcase a larger wrapped focus pendant.
