Cool Mike. A deal like that always costs me a new sewing machine for the wife.

Remodelling the kitchen! Have you explained to your wife that you will need a slab saw to cut the tiles for the sink backsplash? You can also tell her about the arbour grinder that you'll need to smooth out the edges. Don't forget about the diamond hole saw you'll need to mount the kitchen faucet.
It's amazing what rock hounds do for the women in our lives. It's all about them! Good luck with the renos. I'd rather be cabbing.
Darryl.

Need to cut and polish agates for the counter top. Just epoxy the rough side down and grout between the slabs. There's your reason for saws and grinding / polishing equipment. Just sell your wife on the idea of a one of a kind counter top.

LOL,tried that Don,she dislikes rock counters like that....As for granite,we have looked at it,but will hold off a year or so before I tackle that project....Not much for counter space,so should be an easy job..(One 45 cut,the rest squared).. As for polishing equipment,I have some old school motors sitting in my shop,I'll have to see what RPM's they are and do some rigging on them to make something happen....Workable and safe....Thumbs up

Mike the cut and polish of granite is easily accomplished with a anglegrinder and some velcro pads graded to 3000 grit diamond. I use this guy for mine stores.ebay.com/American-Granite-Resources?_trksid=p2047675.l2563or you could cut montana agates into 4" tiles and tile it! I can put you onto stain free no color change grout.

an 8 foot granite prefab should cost you between $150 to many $$ depending on choice.
The hardest part is the undermount sink. If you go overmount, then easy, peasy, japoneasy, lemon squeezy, just cut the hole out and drop the sink in.
I can walk you thru it if/when you get there.
