Here's the preform of a super Piranha Agate cab......... I saw a small line between the red areas but I didn't think much of it. And then this happened.... I then proceeded to exude some epithets paraphrased as "AWWW Shucks". Now It will be two half cabs.... Bob

That could be set as two cabs, but as one pendant with silver in the center. All is not lost!

That's a shame Bob. Beautiful agate. I'm sure you will still make good use of it.

yep...thats a heart breaker....my problrm is that my fingers are too smooth and dont grip smooth finished cabs well....so....I have sworn several times under my breath as a nicely finished cab tumbled to the floor to become pieces of what used to be a finished cab.........

I wish I could blame this failure on the mere fact that I dropped it. The anguish would be the same but this failure sneaked up on me. I hate sneaky rocks! Bob

How about some epoxy and then a very creative "lightening bolt" of silver across the wrap?

I hate it when that happens =\ I had a beautiful chrysocolla I was working on Wednesday night. It had some embedded quartz "windows" and two red streaks like lightening bolts in it. It preformed great. The second it touched the flex wheel it broke into several pieces =\. I am curious to see how yours turns out if/when you reshape it. The two pieces look like they will each make a pretty cab

What a shame, that was a beautiful cab.

Some cabs just aren't meant to be. That is a beautiful stone and I have no doubt that you'll salvage something that most of us would be proud to have created.

That is just heartbreaking! At least they are big enough to salvage.

I'm punishing them. They have to sit still on my bench for a while until they behave! I have an idea as to how I want to do them but currently I have more pressing issues. Bob

I can see a nice pair of earrings out of that - the crack was almost dead center
