I just saw this on Craigslist. It's a great deal on some old Star Diamond brand equipment in Ann Harbor, Michigan. The 10" saw alone is worth the asking price for all. And those Star Diamond Cabbing machines are very well designed and made! Would just need to switch the SC wheels and drums to diamond wheels. And spacers can easily be changed to accommodate a couple of more wheels. annarbor.craigslist.org/for/4181294565.html

Only 1 state away and over 800 miles one way. Unless Lake Michigan freezes over soon, that would shave off a well over a hundred miles. That does look like a good group for someone just getting into this.

Hey Quailriver, thanks for the heads up. I put an inquiry if available to buy it. My son is in A2 and could pick it up. Might be a great deal if it isn't too rusty or frozen up. Thanks!

I hope you or someone on this site can get it! And if you do, let us know what's in those two boxes of rough he noted!

If he'd ship, without the bench, I'd jump on this in a heartbeat. Haven't seen a power feed Star Diamond in a long time. It's a damned good deal for someone within driving distance.

Well I have to give you, Quailriver a big thanks for the heads up. My son picked the stuff up this afternoon and it is in great condition after sitting in a basement since about 1969. Rob, it was a lot of Star Diamond equipment: 6" trim saw, a 10" self-feed slab saw, a grinding/polishing station, and a lot of miscellaneous stuff for $400. The seller's mother had bought it and she was just storing it for about 30 years. It was "pickup only" so I guess I got lucky with my son there and get something for all the money I've sent to Ann Arbor, LOL! Now I can hardly wait to get it home here in Idaho. I will try to post more info when I finally get the stuff in hand. Maybe there is some neat rough and rocks in the old boxes. The seller said something about some amethyst. Thanks again Quailriver!!! Might nice of you to post for us.

Congrats! That really was a good deal. I have 2 of those 10" saws, one power feed and one gravity feed. I think they're great!
