As my Grandkids get older,I take them out and teach them about rockhounding,gold panning or fishing and hunting...
Today's lesson was with my 4 1/2 year old Grandson Tommy,I was teaching him about gold panning...
He loved it right off the bat,plus he has been a rockhounder since he was 3 years old....
Enjoy the pics from the day trip to the Oregon mountains,to pan for gold..

Tommy found a few rocks too,as did Grandpa....

This one has a crystal cavity running over half way through it,plus the back side was banded green and white,like jasper...

Plus a Basalt with crystal......

Didn't find must color,but brought home some buckets full of sand and gravel to work.......

rocknrob: There was a shop in Portland, don't know if it's still there called Kenny and Zukes who made the absolute best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The problem is every restaurant thinks their sandwich is worth $20 now and seldom makes the grade. Nov 12, 2024 9:53:31 GMT -5
