Fossiler, that first one looks like it might ba a Dry Head Agate, where was it found? That last one will look really nice once it's tumbled, especially if it doesn't undercut.

Great stuff, all of it. We both kind of played hooky on Wed. and went messing around in the hills in the afternoon. Wife scouring the hill Another scenery shot Some stuff we found And the best of a few pieces of wood After that Arctic front went through here a week or so ago, Wed. was about 50F, overcast, light breeze. Too good not to take advantage of. Thursday dawned at 10F, snowing, wind about 30 mph. We do this stuff when we can. Russ

This is Wyoming. I could take those exact same photographs in a thousand different places with the exception of your wife being in them. Wyoming has mountains, farmland and what you see in those photos. Also, I found that exact same piece of pet wood two years ago so the guy I sold it to must have thrown it away. I have not posted here because I could post 100 photos and they would all be a different material. I wouldn't know where to start so thank you Russ for showing some of our rocks. Jim BTW It is a good thing that you said "we" and not "all of us" because I will go out in fifty degrees and no breeze but when the breeze picks up I am going home even if it is sixty degrees. After working out in the cold way too much I think I get frost bite when it is 65 degrees and wind.

Ha, yeah you're right Jim, those pictures could have been taken a lot of places. If I had taken a picture in the opposite direction you'd have probably known pretty much where we were because there would have been a real distinct mountain in the background. I just thought some of the folks might be interested in seeing some of our rocks and scenery. In 5 or 6 months I'll be able to post some pretty mountain pictures. The wind can sure make a difference in how much fun it is, and I've had enough frostbite for one lifetime so I'm a little careful about that.

Oops, been neglecting my own thread, found this little beauty but don't want to tumble it to remove top damage as i would loose a lot of the stone elsewhere, damn! no rock clubs here where I could grind it out either.

When it comes to local rock, I live in the land of plenty, Arizona! I could post hundreds of photos of our local rock that would blow your mind! Keep your eyes open for an opportunity to buy some of our newest stash we brought down. Awesome rock will be up for sale, we were only able to carry down a limited amount. It was just to heavy and it got to hot! LOL Sheri

would love to see some of that Sheri! The rock locations here tend to be just beaches and they are hit and miss sadly.

Lots of unique variety washingtonrocks. All the green tints are too cool. So many of those are not here is SE US. You are fortunate to have such a wide/wild variety close by.

Saw some of these green beauties in the specimen forum. Love your green grossular, washingtonrocks. Not much to share from our state except an abundance of different flavors of quartz and granite.
