OK - I love the firepits & your redneck forklift is awesome but you have a fire hydrant in the grass?!? Around here they live only on the sidewalks and if you don't have sidewalks, you don't get hydrants!

Are those reject tank ends or are they made for your purpose?
The wheeled lever is way cool but it does not look like it would lift to the height of a pickup bed. It looks like some of those would be a pretty good tussle just flipping them over. Take care of your back dude. You only have one and it sucks when it goes. Jim

awesome! Firepitsatlanta rocks! @wampidy the lift gets it onto a pallet. wireholic I'm gonna guess fire hydrant is ornamental. Jim's wife has a clazee sense of outdoor decoration. See the industrial fan in the background? It's a pinwheel! Rust is a feature of the design at Jim's place. Not a flaw, but a character!

The fire hydrant assists as a canine urinal. It is all yard art. Sold it for years to my plant customers. The hydrant is just stuck in the ground Karen. Those are rejected tank ends Jim. They were substandard to hold pressure. Looks like they are steel mushrooms that were planted. This is the patina field. I can flood them here. It's an old plant field.

Been selling them for a long time Pat. Have built them with swing over stew pot holders and swing over grills. They have a drain that can be plugged to do a water garden. Made these for my customer(to sell my plants out of). They are 4 footers and stepped 15-19-23 inches tall(4 inch increments). With a grill in the bottom to set potted plants on. This is an old Atlanta landmark 'Hastings Nursery' with a very interesting history of a spousal murder by the owner. I stay out of it.

those are all totally bad@ss!! Loving the 'whack a mole' staging field. Can't you just see those lifting up with a giant mole popping his head up?? Does the iron help the plants? How long will this last?

Water tower tanks are about the same thickness and last 60-80 years. But the tank is dangerous to bring down cause it will cave in due to the walls rusted thin. So water towers are almost always brought down like a tree. Chelated iron turns plants green. Used to green up a lawn. I imagine the same thing happens as those rust.

James, every time I think I've seen it all from you something completely new pops up, and it's almost always on a TITANIC SCALE! Geez, that is awesome.

Some friends have a hydrant in their yard, well away from the road, bought it at a sale somewhere. One evening, during the all volunteer fire depts. monthly practice [very small town], the troops pulled up and hooked up to their hydrant. The men got pretty puzzled when it wouldn't give them any water. Steve got a big laugh out of it, all the real hydrants in town are roadside. The Armstrong Forklift is great, no hydraulic leaks or cold weather starting troubles.

The scrap yards are huge resources. And a $200 welder and you can get into all kinds of trouble.
Glad you guys are amused. Just because the plant business gives me 6 months a year off does not mean i have to be a couch potato.
I have to hustle to survive anyway. Just like the rest of us.

The armstrong has a long handle extension for a lesser strong arm Larry. The fake fire hydrant story is about too funny. That thing is so heavy. I believe they are designed for auto impacts.

I was a lucky. It was a cyst in the spinal nerve and not damage. I loaded that sucker myself and woke up crooked. Better today. Thanks. I did use a system that eased the the stress a bit.
